A school board trustee is entrusted with the immense responsibility of governance and educational oversight. This important role encompasses a multitude of tasks and is vital to a school district’s success. School board trustees must work together, oversee their single employee, the superintendent, maintain a focus on student achievement and well-being, and represent the interests of constituents by participating in important decisions.

School board trustees are also charged with adopting policies, curriculum, and budgets, making sure the community’s tax dollars are wisely spent. It is essential that trustees communicate openly and effectively with the community about the progress of their goals, the views and decisions of the board, and how the budget impacts each child from the time they enter RRISD to the time they exit. I plan to “roll up my sleeves” and immerse myself in the RRISD community. RRISD deserves a trustworthy trustee who believes in community engagement and open dialogue. I view communication and transparency as key components to the district’s success, thereby impacting the success of each RRISD student.
MEET JOSH
I was born in San Antonio and am proud to be a native Texan. I am the son of a music teacher, who also happens to be the most influential person in my life. Academic excellence was a bar that I have always set for myself. In 2001, I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and in 2003, I graduated with my Master of Science in Biochemistry. In 2017, I moved to the Round Rock ISD community, to a neighborhood that boasts wonderful elementary, middle, and high school programs. It is at this amazing elementary school that my twins were introduced to exceptional educators who teach the fundamentals of reading, writing, math and science. I am dedicated to being a contributing member of this oversight team where every child in RRISD has access to an exceptional education and is guaranteed success through to high school graduation.
VISION
I am a father with children in RRISD, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to represent the parents, teachers, and students, and members of my community. I aim to prioritize the well-being and safety of our students, and I am dedicated to representing our wonderful district. I believe that our students and families benefit when we work together to achieve academic excellence, which ultimately leads to future positive outcomes.
